Ninjas vs Superbugs

Superbugs – or, drug resistant bacteria – are a growing threat. To fight them, IBM Research is developing a new weapon in its lab: Ninja Polymers.

Why are they called Ninjas? Well, according to the very IBM scientists that created them, Ninjas are the Chuck Norris of nanoparticles. And they kill deadly bacteria in an entirely new way – quickly, silently, and for good.

We’d been telling the world about the amazing things IBM Research was working on, and since Ninja Polymers are too small to actually see in action, we told this story with 3D-printed puppets based on microscopic images, creating scientific personalities in the process.

Every good movie deserves a poster. You can check out its accompanying "infogif" here. I think I just made up that word. It's going to be big.

A longer video took viewers behind the scenes and dove into the science.
